Stockings vs. pantyhose?

Stockings vs. pantyhose: Where do you stand?

For me, stockings are less comfortable. But, I aim to please, so I've found some brands that I like. (Meaning, they don't make my thigh look like a sausage with a rubber band around it.)

It's also nice to know that I now always have a slingshot on hand (rather, on leg) if there's an emergency.

And if I decide to rob a bank, I can use the other stocking for a mask.

What do you think?

I'm not clear on the difference. Do stockings require garter belts?

      Hi, Lotus!

Yes, I'm using the word "stockings" to mean "thigh-highs," which are usually worn with a garter belt.

I'm using "pantyhose" to mean "tights/nylons," like L'Eggs, which cover the body from the belly button on down.

I prefer stocking but the kind with the plastic around the leg so you don't need a garter belt, i get mine from victoria's secret that is when I have to wear them

VS stockings are very pretty, and they do stay up without a garter belt. Still, when I've worn them, I kept thinking, "My stockings are gonna fall down, my stockings are gonna fall down..."

I prefer neither really...but if I must (which at times I must for fashion's sake) I prefer pantyhose (of course after I cut out the elastic band around the waist-so uncomfortable to have elastic pinching at my belly... and the crotch--hate having to take them down every time I have to pee..hee heee)

I go back and forth, depends on how long my skirt is (can't have the garter belt showing in certain situations!). The nice thing with stalkings is that if you run one, the other one is still good... and of course, they're super sexy with a nice red lace garter belt ;) at the same time, pantyhose are more convenient in that you don't have to hunt down two and you can usually get them cheaper...

census - i have and wear both when necessary depending on mood and fashion :)

At the next party, you should DEFINITELY wear a red lace garter belt and that white fur hat!!!

Well I am a big fan of striped tights (pantyhose) and I find stockings annoying as they fall down without a garter belt (which I don't have)
        it's all about the fashion.

I haven't worn pantyhose since.... um, I think 1999. Ha! That's when I gave up my corporate office job which required wearing suits and pantyhose. Ick!

Victoria Secret stockings are mighty sexy on occasion.

I like tights in cool colors too and fishnets are always yummy.

You DO have a mighty fine collection of legwear, I've noticed.

One thing I do like about wearing stockings is that my drying rack looks much prettier. When one hangs pantyhose up to dry, the soggy, saggy little crotch panels always look depressing.

Striped tights do look fun! I have a pair of striped knee-highs that I wear when I'm feeling outrageous. Of course, all of my skirts are quite long, so the most anyone sees is an outrageous ankle...

Places like Marshall's and TJ Maxx sell garter belts very cheaply (under $10), especially around Valentine's Day.

I strongly prefer garter belts and stockings to pantyhose. I like the aesthetic and one doesn't run into the uncomfortable crotch issues that can occur with pantyhose, so I actually find stockings comfier.

    And much sexier.

I very much like the way stockings look.

    Curious thread.

I felt compelled to weigh in with a guys perspective on the matter. For me at least, stockings are about 10 times sexier than pantyhose, and yes it’s largely about accessibility. With pantyhose (if I may be allowed to indulge in reckless metaphor) you end up feeling like a mosquito on the outside of a screen tent, trying to get in.

well I guess yes I would prefer stockings and garters if I had a garter belt...but then again i don't like how garter belts leave little bumps through sheer material...but i guess that could be sexy too...I haven't worn one since I was 17...could be fun again!

Well as far as it goes, about accessibility, I once saw a porn where the guy cut the crotch to the woman's pantyhose (after much heavy petting thru said pantyhose, under which she wore nothing) and proceeded to do naughty things... it was all very exciting.

              agreeing with meena,
I have had that experience and yes it was very indulgent. She let me keep the hose after as I had ruined them for any normal use :)
In a way it was very budhist sex, realizing the impermanence of things. Perfectly good hose, destroyed in a single act of sexual release for pleasure of the moment. The contrast between goosbumped soft skin and the artificial silkiness of the hose which were cut and slit exposing ever more intimate areas of a goddesses flesh. Sensuality combined with sexuality were we enacted the drama of Persphone & Hades.
The token of the coup between us are gone, yet the memory lives on.
              Naughty??? Whats naughty?

So, we all seem to agree that panyhose are only sexy if one is allowed to take a pair of scissors to 'em. ;)

And I think that as many of the freak women as possible should wear garter stockings to the next Freaks gathering. I will certainly do so. Feel free to err to check, Obi-John, and make sure I'm really wearing them if my skirt covers them too much for you to be able to tell at a glance. ;)

                love,

I hate them both! Itchy, itchy dry skin...
